PERSONAL QUALITIES REQUIRED

Overseas lifestyles and habits are vastly different from North America. Schools are looking for a casual, yet professional appearance, promptness, references from friends or employers, respect of other cultures, enjoyment of meeting new people, love of travel and English as your first language. You do NOT need a second language.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Many schools will take native English speakers with Grade 12 High School Diploma, preferably an ESL-type Certificate or equivalent work experience. Most schools will take teachers with just a degree. Having both a degree, in any subject, and ESL-type Certificate or other teaching Certificate are ideal.

There are many ESL certification courses. These are priced from $500.00 to $5000.00 from one week to six months. Contact us to become ESL-certified. We can help match you with a course suitable to your needs.

OTHER CRITERIA

You must be at least 18 years of age. With some schools, you must be 21 years of age. You must be a native English speaker and able to get a valid passport: Canada, US, UK, Australia and New Zealand citizenship.

We will do our best to match you with a school according to your qualifications, age and experience. Most contracts are one year. Classroom instructions vary depending upon the country, the school, the agreement and/or the pay. You are welcome to contact us to help you change schools or countries after you finish your first contract or to stay for an extended term.
