WHAT, WHERE, WHY & HOW
OverseasEmployment.ca in coordination with the Vancouver School Board, a local Canadian College, associated Chinese companies and Universities offered Native Born English speakers an opportunity to teach for the Summers of 2003, 2004 & 2005 a chance for an experience of a life time. There will be opportunities for the summer of 2006 as well.

In China, the Government has sanctioned and supports its people in the learning of the English language. During the summers of 2003 and 2004 we were able to successfully provide ESL teachers for English Summer Camps in China teaching thousands of young Chinese students. The English teachers we sent, some as young as 18 years old, had the time of their lives and some even decided to stay and work full time in China for at least the following year. Although a few of the younger applicants had some cultural adjustment problems, every one who participated learned a great deal over all, and benefited from the experience returning home better equipped to deal with an ever changing world.

Because of our experience with the 2003 / 2004 /2005 summer camps, Educational partners in China continue to give our company and associates opportunities to bring student teachers over to China. We can offer ESL teacher’s hands on practical training, monetary compensation, meals, clean accommodations, field trips and much more. On satisfactory completion of the 2005 summer camp, the teachers received their practicum OE ESL teacher certificate for their ESL practical teaching experience. This certification can save many hours of volunteer classroom time if the student teacher is considering continuing study in advanced TESOL certification training. OverseasEmployment.ca can still offer a one-year full time contracts to those teachers interested in staying on in China, giving ESL teachers a chance to work and save money after the summer English camp is completed.

The full time contracted position would offer, free accommodations, re-imbursement of the teachers airline ticket cost, ability to save money while working only 20-25 hours per week teaching conversational English. A visa extension or change (if necessary) plus an opportunity to work part-time or over time to make extra money. Working in China can give you a chance to learn about an ancient historical culture, make life long friends, employment experience, language education and so much more.

THE SUMMER ENGLISH CAMP CHINA 2003/ 2004/2005
Each student teacher was provided with tee shirts that were worn while participating in camp activities. The official work hours were 25 per week or approximately 5 hours per day on a 5-day cycle, two days a week are usually free unless scheduled or the student teacher was offered and excepted extra work hours for overtime pay. Overtime represents hours over and above the standard 25 per week. Overtime pay is offered at 80 rmb per hour. There was a good amount of free time for fun and recreation.

Special 2003/2004 Bonus: There were free martial arts lessons offered to the ESL teachers and some took part in the experience.

Optional: Canadian student teachers that chose to learn Mandarin were offered complimentary Chinese language lessons.

Accommodations provided were clean and comfortable and considered very good by Chinese standards.

Food was provided during working hours by the sponsoring summer school. The teachers ate in the cafeteria at no charge, 3 times daily. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Special dinners were occasionally organized for the foreign teachers in the evenings.

OPTIONAL FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT
OverseasEmployment.ca and associates can offer full time employment to those student teachers who choose to stay in China after the satisfactory completion of the ESL Summer English camp. The Teachers must make their decision to take full time employment in China, shortly after they arrive and begin work. If the teacher agrees to stay in China, a standard contract will be given to each individual to be signed during the first 30 days of the summer camp. This will allow the administrative staff times to evaluate each student teachers performance and find a suitable full time job placement.

2006 SUMMER CAMPS IN CHINA - If you are interested in working just for the next summer, or interested in a full time position after the summer camp, please contact us and let begin processing at least two months before the dead line. Deadlines are June 1st yearly. You are responsible for your own airfare, however, if you decide to stay for a one-year contract in China, your airfare will be refunded by the Chinese school according to the agreement you will sign with your host school in China. Although OverseasEmployment.ca will no longer fully co-ordinate the Summer Camp program, we will still be offering our clients in China, ESL Teachers to participate in their individual programs. We will assist in the hiring and processing of our applicants, and coordinate with our various candidates and schools.

Summer Camps can vary in scheduling, accommodations and activities depending on the Chinese host schools program and standards. OverseasEmployment.ca cannot responsible for these possible types of unusual changes
